"Prison" week is almost over. :) Here is another view of the Missouri State Penitentiary, which I toured over the past weekend. I am swamped at work, so this tour turned out to be a happy opportunity. I found this place to be compelling and fascinating, not all in a good way. Originally, I thought many of these shots would look better as a b&w. After giving it a try, the color versions tended to win out (as here).
I appreciate your kind comments and tolerance for these challenging photos (actually, they are kind of depressing, truth be told). Thanks, too, for visiting and commenting, as the spirit moves and time permits.

It makes me want to cry for people who don't get to walk in nature...how can we expect they can come back into society in the future. Thanks for these thought and feeling provoking shots
The grit and grime in this one, and the repetition of harsh lines captures prison life in a way I imagine it to be. The sameness...the monotony...the grimness.
Love the way you have captured this scene. So stark and grim. Those red railings lead you right across the walkway into that horror! A great series - thanks for sharing! Fav#
It's interesting to see all the color and those walkways sure look skimpy. I guess they probably have pictures of what it looked like when open - would be interesting to compare. Great shots. You've inspire me to make the trip one day.
I think this series of yours is stunning, you really did a good job with them. This one in particular, even though it is beautiful, may have more potential with different crop options, but this may not be the platform to elaborate on that...
