A spiky little gum ball, out in my back yard. When I am trolling around in the yard for items of interest, it is a sure clue that work has been demanding. I really like the many textures, colors and variable surfaces that this mundane object provides. I thought about a b&w, but the color (to me) enriches the image. Almost like a tiny planet! :)
Thanks for your kind comments on my butterfly shot from yesterday. I appreciate each one.

@ericdibosco I have never tried focus stacking. I have read a bit about it but have never tried it... it sounds very intimidating and time consuming. Also, I have never tried combining multiple photographs together into one, so that part has me stumped, too. Maybe after I am an "empty nester" this fall, I will have some time to concentrate on this technique? This subject would be a good one to try it with, I am guessing?
