Playground Pony

I hadn't been to my kids' old playground in ages. We walked by it tonight (on the way to copying my eldest child's passport for Monday's semester abroad).

This is the metal horse they rode, when they were toddlers in pre-school. Amazingly, my husband rode it too, when he was the same age. Lots of memories, which are especially sweet as we get ready to be empty-nesters next week.

Thanks for stopping by. Each visit is a gift of time.
This is the epitome of nostalgia!

Poignant feel here with the light. Oh, I so remember the empty nesting...five kids all gone their separate ways

@jgpittenger Five! What a crew... I am sure you appreciated (at least a little bit) some rest. Yes.... it is bittersweet, but the right thing at the right time, I think.

They don't make them like they used to! The horse looks well loved and if only it could talk, it must have such stories to tell!

Wow, that has lasted a long time. I can't think of any parks close by that have been there for any length of time.

Wonderful POV to have the two horses in the image, especially with the timing of the kids' departures for school. What a time of mixed emotions, I'm sure.

Wow, such family history at this playground. So unusual to see these older playgrounds. Many have been transitioned to the new type. Good to see this one! Are you ready for empty nesting?? :)
