Overcast and Bummed

Feel free to scroll on by, right past this silly thing.

This is the cloud map over St. Louis tonight. We drove out west, hoping for a break in the clouds, to get a glimpse of the eclipse and moon tonight. Not to be... it is raining harder out west than it is where we live, darn it. I am really disappointed. Oh, well - this commemorates the effort, anyway. I hope I can enjoy some "blood moon" shots vicariously here, at least. :)

Anyway, enjoy your upcoming week!
No one will sympathize with you more than your fellow photographers on this site! We've all been there!

I drove to three different places looking for a hole in the clouds and fog. I got lucky and had about 15 minutes of shooting time before the fog rolled in there, too.

Here is my take on the weather, at least it was beyond your control on getting the shots you wanted. I would be even more bummed if I had my camera setting all wrong. :) There is a silver lining in every storm cloud.

Cool processing.

Cool processing. We had clear skies but the eclipse was at around 4:15am!

Love the concept. Pity about the eclipse.

Saw it here but decided not to attempt a capture as my last close up of the moon was not successful.

Interesting perspective on cartography.

Same thing in Chicago but you had a much cleverer response than I did (as in, go out on the deck, look up at the clouds, return to house and give up).

I feel your pain... Not hint of the moon in the metro east.

Good thing we have 365 friends to share their moon views with us. Yeah, too bad about the clouds. It hasn't been cloudy here for what seems like weeks - darn.

I know how you feel. We had rain all night!

I feel your pain on this one, and what made it more frustrating was the nights leading up to it were beautifully clear!
