We had a recent chance to tour the United States Naval Academy, in Annapolis, MD. A fascinating and historical campus. It's officer candidate school for the Navy, essentially. Founded 1845. This building is a multipurpose room, built in 1903. The campus is full of "Beaux Arts" architecture, of which this building is another example.
Note the anchor. :) Also, the flags are from all of the states who send midshipmen (women) candidates to the academy. Basically, I felt like a slacker when walking around the grounds, surrounded by all of these youthful, smart, in-shape, focused students. This is where the Blue Angels pilots begin their academic life.
10/1/2020: Finished year 7 (!), with continuing gratitude towards this amazing community. Based in St. Louis, MO. Regular worker-bee and self-taught photography dilettante....
Interesting to see this academic grounding site for all these officers, pilots, and so forth. Fascinating to contrast this historical look with the ultra modern Air Force Academy.
