Long Odds

I have extremely mixed feelings about the brutality and commercialism of American football, but I grew up in Philly and the Eagles are getting ready to play the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Of course, I have a jacket. ;)

Thirteen years ago, in the only other Super Bowl that the Eagles have made it to, the Pats beat the Eagles like a drum. I fear that it is going to happen again, just like before, but I am lashed to the mast to view the spectacle anyway. Been waiting over 50 years for a win... may have to wait some more. “Long suffering” describes it.
