I am working through my photos of Ireland and I want to backtrack on the journey, so to include this shot (which I was drawn to).
We are at Bunratty Castle, Limerick. In addition to the main castle, they have a number of buildings on grounds, representative of various parts and times in Irish life.
This is a schoolhouse, with a window lighting the student desks. I believe it dates from around 1800-1850. All grades in the classroom (maybe 10 kids?). For some reason, I just loved the entire scene.
10/1/2020: Finished year 7 (!), with continuing gratitude towards this amazing community. Based in St. Louis, MO. Regular worker-bee and self-taught photography dilettante....
Super composition. So evocative of a schoolroom, the light and fun outside the window, the proper wooden desks inside......not that dissimilar to the classrooms of my infant years! Love the symmetry.
