Blue and Gold

Here is blue heron, balancing on a rock in the middle of the stream, at sunset. We were hiking at Smith Rocks State Park, Oregon. After a long and delightful day, here is the end view.

We had been chasing this fellow for a bit, up and down the river, so it was great to catch him in the river at the end of the day.
