You just cannot get away from your phone

I saw this person riding across the fields the other day and thought they posed a striking contrast with the red, white and blue. The rider is walking the horse as they are answering the phone. I used to ride but didn't have a mobile phone in those days. I'm glad I didn't because I used to find it so peaceful cantering and trotting through the fields with my daughter. You could hear the birds singing and enjoy the view over hedges. It's definitely a good way to see the countryside. When we were on holiday in Bournemouth, we went riding through the New Forest. It was brilliant. Because we turned up in our riding gear, the stables let us explore on our own away from the holiday riders. Happy days!
She looks great! Handy having the phone to ring out in emergencies but not for being pestered on! It's sounds like an idyllic way to get around but when I tried to learn I couldn't get used to it moving when I wasn't doing anything - whereas a bike keeps still!

Once in a while, it's nice to be out of reach! Nice story about your memories :)

Lovely scene. Lucky the rider was in red!

Great shot Rosie. The red really pops out here! Nice catch of the technological life we all now lead.

Great capture and perfect focus. The horse and rider are so sharp. You're right. Everywhere you go someone is talking on cell phone.

The rider looks (almost) lonely, & then with the phone, not so alone.
It is great to be out of signal sometimes!

I find this funny on a horse with a cell phone. I like the pop of red too.

How did I miss this. Great contrasts.!!!! Sometimes having a cell is good. My sister-in-law rides ( 63 yrs old) and she fell last winter and broke her arm, had to walk her horse all the way back to the barn in pain, didn't have her cell phone.

@sailingmusic You are absolutely right - if you go riding alone, you need to make sure that you can ring for help should the worst happen. A friend of mine recently broke her collarbone when she came off and luckily she had her phone with her to summon help
