I thought I'd gone quackers

When I looked out the kitchen window this morning, I couldn't believe my eyes. Mr & Mrs Mallard were in the back garden. I had Bas on my shoulder and as they made their way to the front of the house by going round the conservatory, I tried to get some pics but there were too many reflections on the glass to get any good pics. Anyway, Bas flew off onto the top of his cage and so I followed the ducks by going to my front door. I carefully opened the front door expecting that they would either run or fly away but instead they came up to me quacking like mad. They are obviously very tame and I suspect they have come up from Danish Camp. After having a look at my flowers, they decided to toddle off which was a good thing really as I wasn't sure what Bas was up to. You have to keep your eye on him when he's out otherwise he takes a fancy to all sorts of things and likes nothing better than the sound of splitting wood!

Nice shot. Very accommodating Mr & Mrs - birds are attracted to you, Rosie! (But not to me!!!)

How nice to be visited like that! We used to have ducks wanting to come into school where I worked and would camp out in the porch, all hopeful!

Beautifully captured - and convenient that they stopped to look at your flowers!

They've heard about the bird lady and are wanting a portrait! Nice to have some friendly ducks but there won't be much garden left if they settle...

How cool to get them in the garden.

They picked the right place to go, so you could take the shot without looking for them

Surprised Bas didn't react to them! That would be fun to have them in the garden.

Lovely. Funnily enough we have a husband and wife mallard frequenting our garden. They swim on our postage stamp sized pond and look for bread. You may be lucky and get some eggs laid.
