I haven't taken many photos today as it is cold and wet! However, the ones I took have all been taken in the garden. This is Mr Black again and I just liked the contrast in this one between the colour of the squirrel and the golden leaves surrounding him.
I was put on the spot at camera club last night as I had taken my camera in to see whether another member's lens would work on my camera as another member's lens came up with error messages. It seems that my camera doesn't like older lenses as his wouldn't work although he has exactly the same camera as mine. He thinks it's a problem with the motor in the body and if I wanted to, I could take it back to John Lewis where I bought it because it's obviously a fault. However, as this is the second body I've had (the first one lasted 10 months before the sensor went) and I've had this one for 10 months now, as my lenses all work and I don't really intend buying any second hand lenses, I've decided I can't be bothered to take it in. The trouble is I don't want to be without it and I'm not sure whether they would do just a straight swap and what happens if I get another one with problems. Better the devil you know!
Anyway, I had forgotten that I was telling you how I was put on the spot. They were doing a presentation to one of the members of a tripod for being voted the best shot of the Exhibition and the firm that supplied it wanted a photo of the presentation. As I was the only one who had a camera rather than a phone camera, I was asked to take the shot. It's not really my thing so I was a bit worried about how it would turn out and they didn't really pose. Also I prefer more natural shots when people aren't expecting it (as you will probably realise from some of my street shots) so I'm not altogether happy with the ones I took but have sent them in anyway. If I could have cut the person from one shot and added to the other, I might have got 1 decent shot but as you probably realise, I've not got a clue how to do this!
Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs and for getting my last 3 main album pics on PP. It really is a thrill when I see them on there
Terrific shot. I love how he contrasts with the Autumn leaves - fav! You'll have to come over and I'll show you what I do - it's really easy with Picasa.
Great shots of the nature around your garden area Rosie.......your bird shots are excellent too& this little chap is poised beautifully on that tree branch.
Love the colour surrounding this cute little guy. You've had some great shots while I've been missing. It's a bit chaotic here at the moment with the family staying, but you're welcome to come over after they've gone and we'll have a look at Picasa together.
Great capture, I love the comp and the bokeh. Any lens made by Nikon since about 1970 should work with your camera. I have a D7000, and I frequently use a lens I purchased in the 1990's.
@rosiekind I usually babysit Henry every Friday but they're away in Sheffield next weekend, so next Friday (5th) may be OK. I'll let you know what time. Oh I've just realised I commented twice on this pic!
