This goldfinch was waiting his turn on the sunflower hearts hanging from one of the corners of the whirlygig washing line outside the kitchen window. It is nice to see the birds returning to the garden so perhaps they have eaten a lot of the fruit that's out in the hedgerows or perhaps they just prefer my sunflower hearts!
