I spent a very cold morning watching the kingfishers from the opposite bank to where I usually sit. I did have the comfort of a chair to sit on but where I had positioned my camera, I had to stand up to find out which way to point the remote! It was behind a load of stinging nettles which the honey man (I have now discovered his name is Robin) had left although he has trimmed the ones near the edge of the brook. It makes it much easier for me to get down there with the camera. He is also resiting one of his hives so that the bees don't disturb me. I really do have it made! Taking Sarah's advice I captured all my images in RAW but after processing, I can't really see any difference with the JPEGs.
At Camera Club last night, I was pleased to get a couple of 18s out of 20 and the Judge held one of my images back for a second look. I must be improving!
Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciated.
Have you sharpened them at all. RAW does need a sharpen tweak. By shooting in RAW you collect so much more data which you can manipulate to your satisfaction.
You make the camera club sound so scary - I would give most of your shots a second look - and more. Glad you are getting co-operation as you watch the King fishers. The resultant pictures are lovely - raw or jpg.
