Every Thursday we go to a family run pizza restaurant in Bedford and this is Tony who makes all the pizzas by hand. I actually took this last week and was pleased that it came out well as I took it on manual settings without flash. I rarely use flash as I think it makes things look all the wrong colour with a bluish tinge. On busy nights, there can be about 100 people there but Tony never panics and just makes each pizza and bakes them in the wood fired oven behind him. He is very laid back! When we first used to go there, the restaurant was run by Gerald and his mama and papa would always come in to check that things were running OK as they started the business when they came over from Italy many years ago. Gerald comes in especially on busy nights but the restaurant is now run by Angelo his son. Gerald has 1 daughter who has now produced 2 grandchildren and as well as Angelo he has 2 younger sons - Alfie and Guy and when Guy comes back from Uni, he helps out around the tables and Alfie the youngest son who is still at school also helps out during holiday periods when he is not at school. We have watched them all growing up and it's really nice to know them all so well. Mama is still alive and comes in from time to time but sadly Papa died a couple of years ago
