This fellow was sitting on the roof above the kitchen which was an extension to the house. I took this through the bedroom window and I think he was hoping I might throw some food out for him. The gulls around Eastbourne make a heck of a din crying out and you can see them sitting on the roofs of a lot of the houses around where Dave lives in the Old Town. They have hatched several chicks around his area and they can be a bit of a menace as they dive bomb people on the pier to try to get their chips and any other goodies!
Since posting this one, I've since been reliably informed by someone who works at RSPB that this is a Herring Gull.
