After I had walked around the Finger Lakes and gone down to the end of the large lake, I was on my way back and the ladies I had spoken to earlier were calling me to tell me that a heron was sitting on the dipping platform. I didn't realise but they were all excited when I got there and so I took some pics of the heron. I had already heard one of the herons shouting as he flew over one of the Finger Lakes. Of course it was the one I wasn't looking over! Anyway, I was pleased to see this little fellow as I had already chased one heron from one side of the big lake to the other. There were at least 3 herons seen today. They are becoming much more common and I think it's because they have had a good breeding season this year
