Sheep

Not too long ago it was common for farmers to lead their sheep across roads to a new paddock. This was a country road as cars had to wait while the farmer drove his sheep across.

@777margo Thanks Margo, they looked nice and healthy, I thought carrying lambs. A brave farmer to cross if they are pregnant ewes! Yes nice memories.

I too remember this. ** years ago on my way to Wakefield on the bus to the hospital where I did my radiography training. Got stopped at the next village many, many times. “Sorry I’m late, sheep/cows held up traffic!’

@jesika2 Yes, they took their time too.

They used to be driven past my house when I was tiny, occasionally one would escape up the footpath and scare the daylights out of me. I was only 3 or 4 at the time and they seemed huge!

@francesc there is always one that bolts. As a child they would have been scary.
