The Ahuriri River was running high and fast when I got to it and so I took the bypass over Ireland Road Bridge 5km downstream to then walk back the 5km to the track. A further 10km walk to Tin Hut a private hut owned by Longslip Station. I was 5th to arrive in the 6-bunk tiny hut and two hikers arrived after me. 😊 It was here I met people I had met earlier on the track and at Ohau Lodge and leap frogged down the trail south of here.
It was about the only thing on the plain to measure how far I had to go. Appreciate your comments thanks.
