My second and last collage on the captioned subject. These are some more scenes from this beautiful ballet performance we attended to last Saturday. The little kids in the top right corner represent a magical train while those a bit bigger in the lower right corner formed a sort of magical dragon/serpent/crocodile.
This afternoon I will be sowing vetches (in Maltese ‘gulbiena’) in pots in preparation of Christmas. I will tell you more about this in due course.
Vetches (or Vicia) is a genus of about 140 species of plants. It is in the legume family and member species are native to Europe, North America, Asia and Africa. Among its closest living relatives are the lentils and the true peas. Vetches is one of the first domesticated crops. It was grown in the Near East about 9,500 years ago, and is of historical importance in plant taxonomy. The main usage of the Common Vetch was as forage for ruminant animals, both as fodder and legume. I do not thing it is used for this purpose any more, at least in developed countries.
Have seen your postings on the ballet!!! those are vey nice pictures and it must have been a wonderful performance Thank you for sharing this with us!!!
