Today wanted to post a special picture to welcome-in the New Year. So I had this picture of the Tritons Fountain which I took a few days ago, added some fireworks to give it the a festive atmosphere and this is the result. I Hope you will like it like I do.
Designed by Maltese sculptor Vincent Apap in 1959 the Tritons Fountain is a stunning piece of local art at the gateway of Malta’s capital city, Valletta. It seems it is in need of extensive repairs – there are parts of the bronze structures which are cracked and leak water and the water pipes running within the bronze figures and underneath them need to be replaced.
Triton is the mythological Greek god who is know as the messenger of the deep with an upper body of a man and tail of a fish. He is son of Poseidon, god of the sea and Amphitrite goddess of the sea.
May the new year bring with it health, love, happiness and prosperity to all my friends.
I wish to thank you all for looking at my pictures and for tyourlovely and encouraging comments I assure you all that they have been very much appreciated and have urged me to do my best to improve myself in this lovely past-time.
