The Sunday before last was the Feast of Our Lady of Carmel in Balluta, close to the place I go to in the evenings. So I took my camera and took some shots.
This shot shows the promenade in front of the church closed to traffic for the duration of the procession with the statue of the Virgin Mary. While the procession goes round the streets of the parish people linger in front of the church eating up whatever is available, from burgers to hot dogs or pizza and drinking all sorts of drinks to quench the thurst of a hot summer evening. Some people just stroll around enjoying the presence of the crowd and the festive ambience. The street is decorated with light festoons, statues and banners.
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday’s picture.
