Last Sunday it was the turn of the San Gwann Parish to have its annual feast with decorated streets, lights, band marches, fireworks and the procession with the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes. I wasn’t there but the Sunday before, was the Feast of Our Lady of Carmel in Balluta, close to the place where I pass the summer evenings. So I took my camera and took some shots.
I took this shot from further in the bay of Balluta. The church overlooks the sea and the street, which is closed to traffic at the time is lit with festoons of light bulbs, and decorated with banners and statues. The houses on each side of the church are classified and their façade cannot be altered – thank God for that. There are may food & drink kiosks along the whole street.
Thank you all so very much for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday’s picture.
