23rd August. Again Lake Bohinj, this time from a different perspective. We came down to the lake from Mount Vogel which is the highest point on the left of the picture. There were people bathing in the lake and the water was pleasant to touch. Close to the place from where I took these shots is a small chapel with beautiful frescoes on the walls which were being renovated.
The lake is located within the Bohinj Valley of the Julian Alps. It is a glacial lake dammed by a moraine. Much more water leaves the lake than enters it. This proves that besides the streams that flow into it there are also subterranean sources that feed the lake.
Thank you very much for looking and for your wonderful comments on yesterday's picture.
