Shot taken yesterday. The picture shows the church of Our Lady of Carmel of Balluta (in Sliema) and the curve of the promenade where it is located. The buildings around the church are protected and cannot be demolished. On Sunday, the celebrations culminate with a procession with the statue of the saint around the old part of the parish. When the procession leaves the church many people linger around, chatting or consuming food they purchase from the many kiosks that come to the area to take a share from the people’s pockets. The kiosks do not show in this shot and that is where most of the people were.
I took shots of the fireworks on the eve and on the festa day. I am completely dissatisfied with my shots. I will show a few - the best - in the coming days.
Tour de France. Nibali was crowned the winner of the 3-week race. He dominated the race throughout. Now to have some rest from watching tv.
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments and the fav’s on yesterday’s picture.
Stunning Dione, I love this. The reflections on the water and the lights surrounding the church are great, but what really attracted me was the light illuminating the steps up from the water to the church. Fav
