My 365 friend, Mailyn ( http://365project.org/mittens) has challenged me to post landscape shots consecutively for the three days – the shots do not have to be current. This is my second post. This is a view from the countryside just below Verdala. The imposing building at the top of the hill is (or was – I don’t think it is functioning any more) the Verdala Hotel with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.
I took this shot yesterday when I had to go collect Michaela from her school in Żebbug. The word ‘Żebbug’ in English means ‘olives’. A fine quality of olives was cultivated in this area. Today Maltese olive oil is not produced in commercial quantities but is very expensive and appreciated by connoisseurs.
Joke: There was a blonde, a redhead, and a brunette. They were all trapped on a small island in the middle of the Mediterranean and the nearest shore, Malta, was 50 miles away. The three of them felt trapped on this island deprived of society and the glamour of life. The redhead, thinking she was a very good swimmer, decided to take it or leave it and swim to Malta. She jumped into the water swam and swam until after 15 miles fatigue took over and she drowned and died. Unaware of what had happened to her redhead friend, the brunette decided to take also her chances. So she jumped in, swam 24 miles, got hypothermia and drowned, and died. The blonde, also unaware of what had happened to her two friends decided to do the same. She swam and swam and swam and after 25 miles got tired and swam back.
I love these blondes.
Thank you very much for looking and for the lovely comments and the fav’s on yesterday’s picture. My cold is ok now and except for the first day I have been out everyday. The cough is still there though. Thanks to those who asked and sent wishes.

Big laugh on the joke.
Very pretty! I guess Malta is surrounded by many countries who are in olive production but I'm sure Malta's olive oil is just as good as any of the others. I'm sure you'd say it's better!
I'm glad it's over too, thank you for your good wishes
