Shot taken on the Friday before the feast. Best viewed enlarged.
I left Christine with friends while I went to take some shots around the centre of the festiities. Here is part of the road in front of the Parish Church. The road was closed to traffic at the time.
Joke: The parish priest lived with his old spinster sister. He went to the dentist for a new set of false teeth for the occasion of the village festa (feast). The first day of the novena, after he got his new teeth, he talked for only eight minutes. The congregation liked it.
The second day of the novena, he talked for only ten minutes. The congregatation was content. On the eve of the festa he talked for 2 hours and 48 minutes. The congregation had to mob him to get him down from the pulpit – they were very worried on what would happen on the festa day. A group of men went over to him and asked him what happened.
The parish priest explained that the first novena day his gums hurt so bad he couldn't
talk for more than 8 minutes. The next day his gums hurt too much to talk for more than 10 minutes. But, on the eve of the festa he put his sister's teeth in by mistake and he couldn't shut up...
Thank you very much for looking and for the wonderful response to my shot of yesterday, helping putting it on pp and tp. Very much appreciated.
Lovely capture of the beautiful decorations. It seems like there is always a feast happening where you live - definitely a way to keep things interesting!
