RE-ENACTOR AT FORT MANOEL by sangwann

RE-ENACTOR AT FORT MANOEL

I don't know whether this guy saw me taking his picture - I was quite close to him. If he did see me he didn't show it.
There were a few re-enactors at the Fort which is only opened to the public on 'special' occasions.
I presume he is dressed in a 'Dejma' uniform. The 'Dejma' was a territorial force of Maltese men who made to train once (I think) a week at their village so that they are prepared to defend their villages in case of an attack. 'Dejma' soldiers put up a brave opposition against invading French forces under Napoleon Bonaparte in 1798 unaware that the Order of St John had already surrendered in Valletta.
Thank you so much for looking and for the comments and fav’s on yesterday’s picture.
