16th February, 2018 – four months after Daphne’s death, four social groups led a vigil demanding justice for the brutal murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia. I was there. At the end of the vigil those present were given this card showing a picture of Daphne. As soon as I got home I placed the picture on the floor and took pictures of it. The shot pleased me so much that I decided to share it with you and also to commemorate her contribution to investigative journalism. She has been honoured all over the world for her work and the European Union has named its press hall in her memory.
Daphne was a journalist who was not afraid to expose certain politicians when there was a smell of corrupt practices; she was loved by many and hated by many others. She was killed by a car bomb four months ago and many of us are crying out for justice. Three suspects are currently undergoing criminal proceedings but those who hired them to commit this hideous act have not been exposed yet. Many of us think that those responsible for good governance – like the police, public attorneys and the government at large – are not doing enough to bring all those involved to book.

Terrible thing. I just looked, this hideous act made someone a widower and left three children without a mother. So sad. She shared the same birthday, 26th August, with my mother. Hope there is justice and the real culprits are caught and punished adequately. Thanks for sharing.
A tragic loss of a brave woman who was making the world a better place. Thank you for sharing this and keeping her story in the public eye. I hope those responsible for her murder are brought to justice.
Sometimes making noise is enough to turn the wheels of justice. I hope your efforts do that. She deserves to be honored by bringing her murderers out in the open and convicted. Thank you for sharing her story.
