Shopping finished at last and a sigh of relief from yours truly.
We continued on our journey to Enna, situated in the heart of Sicily. As we climbed the steep road to the top of the mountain where Enna is situated we could see this lovely town on the top of another mountain and I was eager to arrive at our destination to be able to take a shot of this amazing looking place. And that was the first thing I did as soon as we got out of the cars.
The town of Calascibetta rises on a plateau in the Monti Erei, 7 km from Enna. Like most of the old towns in the area, it still preserves its medieval layout of alleys and courtyards, and is dominated by the ancient church of San Pietro and Santa Maria Assunta. I had never heard the name before and asked a local but was unsure I got the name correct until I saw a road sign on our way down from Enna. I had to write it down so I could avoid spending hours trying to find it on the internet.
Thank you for looking and for your views on yesterday's picture.
@sangwann Here to. The increase of people (manly imported) and the need of houses, (we less build,) made the value of property sky high. And from a building the goverrnment collect more taxes than from a potato field.
A perfecto picture!!! :)
