One last shot from my walk which started and ended at St Peter’s Pool. The day’s outing ended with my drive to San Luċjan Watchtower situated between Marsaxlokk and Birżebbuġa. And this is one of the shots I took of this strong tower.
The original tower was built by the Order of Saint John between 1610 and 1611. An artillery battery was added in around 1715, and the complex was upgraded into a fort in the 1790s. In the 1870s it was modified by the British. Today, the tower and fort are used by the Malta Aquaculture Research Centre.
