Back to my story from our Naples holiday – Day 6
Basilica del Gesù Nuovo meaning Basilica of The New Jesus’’.
We were booked to visit the San Severo Chapel for 10.30am. To while away the time we went walking along the streets of Naples looking for interesting sites to see. The façade of the Basilica del Gesu Nuovo looks like that of a barn (at least to me) but on the inside it’s a different story. I tried to visit when we came to Naples on a guided tour a few years ago but I was not allowed the time to do that, so this time I had all the time to do so. And like most churches in Naples it is an amazing masterpiece of art. This is part of the ceiling.
