I am sure I have posted pictures of this shrine before but it looked too beautiful when we visited when in Gozo. It has been given a great clean up and restoration. The painting over the alter is that of Our Lady of Pinu (Pinu is an abbreviation of Philip) and the chapel is part of Ta' Pinu Basilica which replaced a small church in the middle of agricultural land near Għarb, Gozo. It is venerated by most Maltese and Gozitans and has been visited by the last three consecutive Popes. We make it a point to visit the place each time we go to Gozo.
Many thanks for your views, comments and fav's on yesterday's picture. They are always appreciated.
I love the décor and warm inviting colours in this chapel , with the beautiful ornate pillared archway. A lovely pov and capture with Christine admiring it all !
It’s quite lovely. The wall behind the painting looks to be gold leaf, so beautiful. I’m embarrassed to say I had never heard of Gozo until you started posting photos taken there.

If I (we) would care about the weather, we would be indoors for many days.
