Pitmedden hedges

I love the sharp lines of the box hedges and nice to see some flowers in the centre ones in May. Most of the other plants are still being nurtured until after the frost danger period when they are used to fill the beds.
There were two oystercatchers in about when we were visiting yesterday, leading us away from their nest on one of the bed areas......sharp eyed Allan spotted it with two eggs.
Susan the head gardener was interested as the crows had got the first lot of eggs. They can be pretty noisy and fierce if they see you near their babies! Hope these survive.
Three good things
1. A gently busy day in the house and garden
2. A long soak in the bath after
3. Catch up chat with the neighbours....older son was 18 last week and just in the midst of exams before heading to university to study medicine....I've no doubt he will pass them all!
Box hedges are so formal & I usually like more natural gardens but do say I have a soft spot for thesis low down hedges all in such straight lines!
