Lucy's place

What a lovely day we had today. Didn't wake till almost 10am and after doing some essential things and brunch!!! we headed off for a wee outing to 'Royal Deeside'.
I've followed this young designer for a few years as her mum was also a teacher with lots of north of Scotland connections like myself.
Lucy weaves beautiful pieces on a spectacular loom now in her own place. It's so lovely to see how things are developing on social media but nothing beats actually going for a visit so that was our focus today! And it was a joy! Love her colours, and beautiful items for sale and fabulous materials.
Then we drove on to a little town where I used to stop for lunch when I worked at the education office in Aberdeen and had the privilege of driving all over Aberdeenshire visiting schools and doing workshops for staff. We stopped at 'The Black Faced Sheep Coffee Shop & Emporium' for lunch - fabulous soups and sandwiches, lovely coffee and so much to see in their lovely selection of decor and gift items!
Three good things
1. Meeting Lucy
2. Feeling relaxed and enjoying the day
3. Collected Allan's graduation photo - from October ceremony - framed to match his certificate. So delighted at his success

This is a super collage of Lucy's work. Where is this? I know the Black Faced Sheep in Aboyne ... I've stopped in past there on a few occasions between Aberdeen and Braemar!

@jamibann ARRA is in Kincardine O' Neil on the left as you're heading west and opposite another fascinating shop called Treasures which has been there for 20 years apparently. Enjoy when you are over this way!

@gijsje Thank you Bep! Her colours are so like the sea and shore in northern Scotland and that's often also like your part of the world! https://www.arratextiles.co.uk/
