Long week end so no school.
It's been a dreich day at several levels. I went to town this morning to go to the funeral of Donna who had been my hairdresser for over 20 years, and died last week. She leaves her young son, 16, so it was a sad day. Didn't know anyone else there but glad I could go, and met two lovely folk who knew her in different contexts. One kindly gave me a lift back to town and it was nice to chat.
She was a very special girl with very gifted hands and I trusted her absolutely with my hair.
Had lunch at Books and Beans http://365project.org/sarah19/moving-on/2012-01-29
and then went to have my hair cut by a completely unknown person.....it's ok! But it's going to take a long time to feel ok with strange hands doing Donna's job!
Then took the train to Inverurie and happy to have a coffee date with Allan at the Kilted Frog! http://365project.org/sarah19/365/2011-11-20
Sally - so sorry you lost a friend (as a hairdresser for that long must become) but glad you were able to go to say farewell. Good you had some fine fare to cheer this dull day and you always manage to frame your pictures to make them so appetising.
Great title and I'd rather have either of these, especially in a place called the 'Kilted Frog', than something from the Subway that I can see through the window, they seem to be getting everywhere. How sad about the death of your hairdresser with such a young son.
Thank you all for your kind words.
So nice to have 'outlet' to share and be creative on days like today!
