The sun came out!
And dad was able to work in the garden.
He has worked this one for 55 years and this year his raspeberries strawberries and blackcurrants are side by side ......just beyond the right hand side of the flower bed looking towards the house.
The rosebud is from the climbing rose just by the front door and that was planted by the first residents in the house. Anne, who was a little girl then, retired to Tain a number of years ago. Her son cares for her now as she needs a wheelchair to get around. She visits the health & beauty therapist across the road and loves to see all Dad's garden things growing as her dad worked as a gardener.
I love the fact that there is such continuity in a little town!

yes he does love it and would be lost without it even though he has to pace himself now - he is 85! Did two rows and planted some potatoes on Saturday....and yes Rick, jam is made with the berries though that is mum's job! She freezes lots of them and you find her making raspberry jam in January etc!
