Week 48 of my 52 week challenge is a Head & Shoulders portrait. I saw these folk building a new path next to the marina where I walk my dogs, so asked if I could take photos. I'm supposed to play with the lighting and mood and direct my model, but I don't have willing and cooperative models so sometimes it is easier to ask a stranger.
@bf2016@narayani Thank you. He asked "What does Mam want to do with the photo?" I told him I might use it in a photographic challenge. I don't want to underestimate the man just because he was digging a path, but I am wondering whether or not he knew exactly what I meant. He just smiled and went back to work so it didn't really open the doors for discussion.
This is wonderful! Agree with Barbara, his face is very expressive. Makes me want to know more about him. Very brave of you to approach a stranger… i'm not good at that at all.
@beckyk365 Thanks Becky. I'm not at all good at approaching people to photograph them - even people I know! In fact it seems more difficult to approach someone I know because it's more okay to be rejected by a stranger than by a friend
