New Somerset Hospital again

Had to take my mother to New Somerset Hospital today for a colonoscopy. As I pushed her in a wheelchair down the lovely old corridors, memories of the way in which I found my father there, and my fight to get him home, came flooding back and I felt quite ill, so I escaped outside for a breather once I got her waiting in the queue.

As soon as I saw this I immediately thought 'Oh poor Desi it would be so hard to go back there again!'

@cottiac Thank you, yes. The colonoscopy came up clear. She is chronically anaemic though so she needs to go back to Vredenburg Hospital tomorrow for a blood transfusion again. The colonoscopy was part of the investigation to find why she is getting so anaemic so quickly

@seacreature Get her properly checked. We had bloods back today for my mother as her colour has been real bad - findings were not nice..

Oh Desi, that is such a difficult thing to do. I hope your mum is ok - it must have been difficult for her being there too.

i'm so sorry you had to feel all that. i am still so very impressed with the way you got your father out of there and gave him the lovely gift of caring for him at home. you and your mom were very brave and strong
