We had rain

So wonderful to wake up in the night to the sound of rain. When I awoke I found both my rainwater tanks filled to overflowing. They were empty. Some of the flowers were a bit battered in the heavy rain and the ground is littered with petals or even whole flowers, but I'm sure they still enjoyed the rain as much as I did.

you've obviously got an effective catching system - good rain - and flowers recover and will be the better for it

@anniesue Yes we put in two water tanks at diagonally opposite corners of our roof so that we manage to collect most of the water from the north and east facing portions of the roof into the tank at the front of the house, and a fair bit of the water from the south and west facing portions is diverted to the tank at the back of the house. That one was completely drained and was now overflowing.

@narayani They had twice that amount of rain in Cape Town and a little bit inland from us, but for us along the West Coast which is semi desert it is a real treat to get so much rain

@pusspup Thank you. I think the rain has so much more meaning for those of us who experience drought and a dry climate. Rain then becomes out of the ordinary and something special
