The smoke haze continues in Seattle. Although the air smelled fresher in the afternoon yesterday so I took a long walk. I took this shot while looking west across Puget Sound toward the Kitsap Peninsula. These lyrics are from a love song recorded by the Platters in 1958 (song written in the early 30's). However, I'm applying them to my love of fresh air and blue sky :): "...Now laughing friends deride
Tears I cannot hide
So I smile and say
When a lovely flame dies, smoke gets in your eyes
Smoke gets in your eyes"
Is the smoke from wildfires on your Pacific Coast? Love this spinnaker shot and how the guy is standing up. It can't be good too be out there breathing the air.
@congaree It should not become the new norm if WA's leaders would start catching up to 21st century technology in detecting fires and also in managing forests.
I love the song; boy, did you use the smoke well and the blue tones are really good for this...hope you are breathing better! Air is finally "good" again here in Salem, Oregon.
Pretty boat. I think you have had more smoke than we have in Sacramento. We only smelled smoke a few times. And for some reason, the coast got it worse where it is usually better with the wind. I hope Fall gets better and not worse with all these fires! :(
