Winter Green

It’s interesting how some plants maintain a vivid green of almost spring-like intensity, even when covered in frost. Maybe the vivid green allows the plant to make the most of short days and weak sunshine, continuing to photosynthesise when its less hardy neighbours have given up and ditched their leaves, to allow what little sunshine remains to penetrate the undergrowth.
I think you are right about these late green leaves, it would certainly give them an advantage. Lovely frost shot! So pretty, frost fringe.
