I woke to sunshine this morning, and since I was working tonight, I was able to enjoy a morning walk under a blue sky. During yesterday evening’s walk I had spotted suitable photo opportunity – snow laden branches over the river by a low road bridge, with the morning sun making the snow glow against dark branches over glittering water. I had forgotten just how far south the sun is at this time of the year, even at first light, and the snow laden branches over the river were in shade – quite gloomy against the surrounding snow glittering in the sunshine. Instead I found these icicles on the small bridge carrying the footpath over the river further downstream.
Fantastic icicles. From the thumbnail the grass looked like guy lines and I thought you'd taken the picture from inside a tent looking out at icicles on the fly sheet.
