A mild evening resulted in a longer than planned dog walk, but it was also a grey and overcast evening and so no photographs until there was a final streak of light on the horizon as we reached the gate onto the Lane. I should have taken more opportunities with Saturday’s sunshine! There is some noticeable drying of the ground, thanks partly to the milder weather, but mostly due to the strong winds, although the tractor ruts along the field track are still full of water, and the adjacent grass is churned up and muddy. This, together with pools of water across the footpath in some places, means that it is still difficult to keep the dogs clean, but at least one long edge of the field is dry, and to date has not been visited by the tractor, and it was pleasant to walk along this wide grassy strip with the dogs chasing each other without splashing through wet mud.
I miss my days of walking with my long coated Shepherd so it's so lovely to read about your days Shepherdman. Gorgeous picture and story - thank you for sharing.
@natr Thank you for your comment - I am glad that you enjoy my ramblings! Our German Shepherd is certainly a central part of our lives, and she knows it!
