I can see clearly now (but not for long)

The black clouds that had been interrupting the sunshine all day finally delivered the goods yesterday evening, just as I was approaching the top of Croft Hill with the dogs. When I took this photo the countryside behind me was disappearing as heavy rain swept towards the Hill, and within a few minutes we were all drenched. The sunset remained for a while, and a rainbow arched across the landscape – I could clearly see both ends from the trig point at the top of the Hill, although it was quite transient, disappearing after a couple of minutes. Large areas of floodwater were visible in all directions, unusual during most years, but almost normal this season. Not surprisingly we sprinted back to the stile and dog-gate at the bottom of the Hill – at least I sprinted, but the dogs merely trotted to keep up.
It's a beautiful shot, sorry you got rained out, though.

Nicely framed sunset. It was a very similar sunset here.

A really beautiful shot. Superb capture of the sun setting through the trees. Love the intricacies of the branches in the foreground.
