Yellows dominate some of our garden in mid spring, particularly when rape has been sown in the field behind us, complementing the laburnum, and the pale greens of newly emerging leaves on the oak trees at the bottom of the garden. It’s “full steam ahead” in the garden at this time of the year – pruning, weeding, feeding and moving plants while we can still avoid knocking over growing perennials, and while the soil is still moist.
