I think that the road sprinkling crew got to work late this morning! The quarry operators are usually very good at damping down the dust, and by the time that I returned from my dog walk the sprinkler was sprinkling vigorously and all the roads were damp, allowing a procession of quarry trucks to transport stone to the grading machinery without spreading a significant proportion of the quarry products across south Leicestershire. The prevailing wind does tend to blow the dust away from us, and Croft Hill shields us from dust and noise, but Mrs Shepherdman assures me that we suffer from more dust than the average household.
