A rather grey and overcast walk along the valley below the quarry. This part is quite marshy in all but the driest of weather, and so we were quite pleased when the quarry installed a boardwalk through the dampest part. In wet winters, when the valley floods, water laps right up the edge of the boarding, and with floods extending across the fields, it is reminiscent of a promenade along the pier, provided, that is, that you don’t look in the wrong directions and see the green and grassy hillside rising up to the quarry edge. The bottom of the quarry is well below ground level at the base of the hill, and groundwater is constantly being pumped out.
@lucypics We dont share cameras - When Shepherdmans Wife buys the latest model, I know to look out for deals on the slightly-older-but-almost-as-good model! (And guess who does most of the dog walking...)
Neat photo.
Good think a dog did not happen alone, no telling what it would do, you being close to the ground ;)
