These pampas grasses grace our neighbour’s, front garden providing all year interest, and at this time of the year, during autumnal gales, the feathered “flowers” are generously shared amongst all of the neighbours. There are no street lights along the Lane, and so most folk have security lights switched on by a motion sensor. My neighbour’s light is unable to distinguish between friends and family, burglars, or waving grasses, and so from time to time, when the fronds wave gently in the breeze in the early hours, we are briefly disturbed as next door’s security light brilliantly illuminates the neighbouring front drive, and part of each garden on either side. Our neighbour snores through it all. He and his wife sleep at the back.
Wonderful feathery fronds. You don't surprise me that your neighbours sleep through the lights coming on - the only people who don't hear car alarms going off are the people who own the cars where the alarm is going full tilt!
