Dark mornings, dark evenings, and having to spend time online and in meetings working, with a small Team, towards repairing a church roof (which unfortunately cascaded water down the walls during a wedding a few weeks ago) has restricted my time behind the camera and on 365, and so here is a “fill in” from our walk up Bardon Hill a few weeks ago. Actually the dog morning walks are almost in daylight, well at least they are on a clear morning, and, as I mused this morning strolling down the muddy field track in a chilly wind, it’s only a month before the mornings start to become light again, theoretically after 21st December. But it never seems like that. The long dark mornings and evenings of January and February seem to drag on endlessly, and I ache for even a hint of grey light at dog walking times. I can tolerate the winter rain and mud, don’t mind the cold, and enjoy the snow, but I hate the short days.
Lovely layers of colour. Agree with you about the short days but console myself by thinking of those folk in Finland. This shot really stands out in my feed
