The winter sun does its best to burn though a blanket of cloud, but at this time if the year the strength of the sun does not provide enough warmth to brighten a grey day. The thermometer read 10C, reasonably mild for the time of year, but today there was a cold wind, at least starting to dry the ground which has been soft and on the brink of muddiness after days of still cool and clammy weather.
